Emma Watts
Principal
Emma is an experienced senior executive and advisor with a background in public policy, strategic engagement, and communications. She has specialised in high profile, transformative engagement and policy initiatives for energy, climate change, water, and the regions but she knows a little bit about a lot.
Emma Watts joined the NSW Office of the Cross-Border Commissioner as Assistant Commissioner in January 2020, six weeks before Australian state borders started closing for the first time in a century. She spent over two years supporting people and businesses to navigate border closures and their impacts.
In 2018 she was the Project Director responsible for developing The Energy Charter, an industry led and world-first initiative to address customer expectations and target real improvements in price and service delivery in the energy sector. As a Director at Energy Networks Australia she established the consumer engagement and strategic advocacy work program. She was also part of the project team for the Electricity Network Transformation Roadmap with CSIRO. She has been a parliamentary and ministerial advisor in the NSW Parliament. She is also involved in strategic planning for a family business based in regional Australia.
Based in Queanbeyan, near Canberra, Emma was born and raised in regional New South Wales. She is a committed practitioner of the art of tsundoku and has distinct views about fonts and formatting.
